Managing Director - Steve Jenkins

Steve Jenkins enlisted in the British Army in 1972 and served 8 years as a Military Training Instructor before being selected to attend regular officer training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. He held middle and senior management roles throughout Europe and the Far East and in the process gained 2 MSc's, the first in Logistics Management and the second in Design of Information Systems from Cranfield University. During a very successful 37 year career he was actively involved in most major operations involving British Forces from Northern Ireland in the early 70's right through to the recent conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.

In his last role within the military he was the senior officer responsible for the coordination of policy for all Defence Logistic Training and he initiated, managed and developed the corporate Logistics strategy, policies and requirements for Logistics training across all 3 Services. This included the development and promulgation of a Training and Education Policy supported by the top down design of a Defence wide governance structure for Logistics training and education which laid the foundation for the coherent training and development of the largest single component of United Kingdom Defence capability. As the United Kingdoms senior Logistics planner for collective training, he analysed the detailed requirements for Logistic Officers training for Multinational operations and compiled a Skills Framework which has been adopted by the American, Australian, Canadian and UK Departments/Ministries of Defence.

A retired rugby player who played for a variety of clubs and enjoyed representative games at Corps, Army, and ultimately Combined Services level when serving with British Forces Hong Kong, Steve also set up and remains the owner of Swansea Freecycle.
